Join us on Saturday, September 18th from 9:00 am - 12 Noon Eastern Time (ET) for a fantastic line up of speakers who will provide you with knowledge about personal and professional issues. We will tackle the issue of personal finances, especially how to save for retirement and how you can retire sooner. We will also have a segment on sleep cycles and shift work, because learning how to sleep better can enhance your quality of life and help you live longer. Lastly we will focus on nutrition, including how to eat nutritiously in a fast paced department, where breaks may beonly a few minutes long. We will learn why good nutrition is key to how we feel and function in our daily lives.

Shift Work, Sleep and the Pursuit of Wellness

Healthy “sleep hygiene”, for example, typically emphasizes consistency in bed times and awakening times, but this doesn’t take into account the realities of shift work that face MRTs.  The session will focus on the challenges and strategies to mitigate the negative impacts of shift work on the quantity and quality of sleep.
