This presentation will highlight how COP can help create a culture of peer-to-peer sharing. Increasing the use of evidence-based practices and quality improvement strategies that work while learning from other's mistakes in aims to improve the profession as a whole.

Amanda Johnston, MRT (R), BAppSc (Medical Imaging)

Cardiac Cath Lab Radiological Technologist

Amanda is a Medical Radiation Technologist who specialized in Radiological Technology. She graduated from Fanshawe College in 2009 and Charles Sturt University in 2017, completing her Bachelor of Applied Science in Medical Imaging. Consistently through her career, Amanda has strived to inspire and share her passion for the profession
with others while working in Applications, Education and General Radiography at a large Trauma 1 Centre in Toronto. Amanda is currently working in an interprofessional role as an MRT in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab at St. Mary’s General Hospital in Kitchener. At work, Amanda loves to collaborate with interprofessional groups to review and rewrite outdated “just do it” imaging related policies and processes to highlight the importance of MRTs in the hospital. Outside of work, she enjoys volunteering with our professional bodies and sitting on many committees locally, provincially and nationally. Some of her favourites have been Stream Lead for Interventional Radiography for the 2017 CAMRT-OAMRS Annual General Conference, 2014 CAMRT Conference App Coordinator, 2013 CAMRT Leadership Development Institute Graduate and her current role on the OAMRS Board of Directors.
