Session Objectives:

  Dr Charis Kepron To cut or not to cut: the expanding role of post mortem radiology in forensic pathology
  1. List the imaging modalities with applications in forensic pathology
  2. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the “virtopsy” over conventional autopsy
  3. Describe the types of medicolegal cases where imaging is already being used as a common adjunct to conventional autopsy.

  1. Review recent innovations in diagnostic assessment of breast cancer including digital breast tomosynthesis, breast ultrasound, MRI, and radioactive seed localizations.
  2. Demonstrate the value of a team approach for diagnostic breast imaging.
