Program Overview:

OAMRS has partnered with the McMaster University - DeGroote School of Business to host an executive development program to give OAMRS members leadership tools, guidance, and support to succeed as leaders.  The Leadership Development Day will be an annual program.  Valued at over $825 per person, the program is free for members. This interactive session includes an online self-assessment tool, The Life Styles Inventory (LSI) that must be completed prior to the program.

Your participation is eligible as credit toward an Executive Management Program Certificate from The DeGroote School of Business.  Please follow the link below for more information.

Goals of the Session:

  • Identify the unique combination of thinking patterns that characterize your current behavior.
  • Determine the links between thinking and behavior, hence effectiveness.
  • Understand which of your thinking patterns are effective, which aren’t, and why.
  • Learn about Constructive; Passive-Defensive; and, Aggressive-Defensive styles of thinking.
  • Define optimal ways of thinking and approaching your work that may be different or more beneficial than the thinking styles that you are using today.
  • Decide which thinking patterns would benefit you the most if you were to change them.
  • Formulate a strategy to undertake change through self-development.
  • Understand the power of styles to improve productivity and effectiveness as a leader.

Space is limited for this prestigious event.  To attend please complete the application telling us why you want to develop your leadership skills.  Financial assistance may be available for members traveling a long distance.  Successful applicants must be available to attend the program October 26, 2019, in Hamilton. Last day to apply is October 6, 2019
